What to look for in an MP3 player...

4.Power Source.

A brief point but a very important one, more important for those of you interested in portable units for everyday use. Different players give very different battery life, some will be able to use rechargeable batteries of a standard size, some will have their own built in batteries. Are there batteries included? What happens if a built in battery begins to lose its sparkle like a mobile phone battery does - can it be replaced? How long will the power last and how long will it take to recharge. Often this may have a bearing on whether a player has an LCD screen and it can be a factor when considering volume. The louder you have the volume control the less time the batteries generally tend to last. Some units last a couple of hours and some will go for half a day or longer. Do you need a unit to last a full long haul flight before the next charge (if the airline let you use it onboard of course). Does the player charge only when connected to your computer via a cable, or can it be charged without the computer by a seperate docking station or adapter.
